Malah seperti satu budaya, apabila tiba bulan Ramadan hotel-hotel tersebut akan berlumba-lumba menawarkan pakej berbuka puasa walaupun tidak mempunyai sijil halal untuk dapur utama mereka.

Berdasarkan statistik Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) dan Persatuan Hotel Malaysia, sehingga Mei lalu, hanya 27 hotel di seluruh negara yang dapur utama mereka diiktiraf halal.

Angka itu pastinya menimbulkan kemusykilan kerana pada bulan Ramadan ini hotel-hotel yang tidak mendapat pengiktirafan halal turut menganjurkan majlis berbuka puasa untuk umat Islam.

Tindakan mereka itu tentunya mengelirukan umat Islam terutama jika makanan yang disediakan tidak halal atau tidak menepati keperluan syariat Islam.
